Now in its 10th year, the West Coast Winter Music Series is planned and programmed by a dedicated group of volunteers who just happen to love music of all kinds, but classical music in particular. They are a non-profit group whose revenues are put back into paying the artists and providing travel and accomodation fees for them to perform in Tofino. Tarun 'Tspoon' is a Vancouver based DJ/producer obsessed with creating hard global beats. He tours the world with his band Delhi 2 Dublin, and is constantly crate digging for fresh beats - from second hand bazaars in Mumbai to the streets of Shibuya in Tokyo. He sees a trend
around the world in the creation of a genre of music that is
essentially genre-less. A music that blends cultures, words, beats and bass. From Angolan Kuduro to Punjabi Bhangra to Jamaican Dancehall to UK Dubstep, this music is breaking boundaries and bringing people together. Tspoon's mission in life is to weave these elements into
banging bouncy dancefloor goodness. Tarun is also founding member of Beats Without Borders and has shared the stage with everyone from De La Soul to Cheb i Sabbah. His tracks and mashups get play on the CBC, BBC and college stations worldwide. He's just completed production on his first solo album, available in the new year.

One of the most dynamic and exciting world-class ensembles of its generation, the Borealis String Quartet has received critical acclaim as an ensemble praised for its fiery performances, passionate style, and refined, musical interpretation. Founded in Vancouver, British Columbia in the fall of 2000 and rapidly establishing a stellar reputation, the Borealis created a national sensation as the only classical ensemble televised on the Great Canadian Music Dream Competition hosted by the CBC. Consequently, they were invited to perform for the Prime Minister of Canada at the Canada Day Celebrations on Parliament Hill in front of an audience
of over 75,000.
